Fresh seafood at Hai Kah Lang Seapark

Fresh seafood at Hai Kah Lang Seapark

Quite happy that Hai Kah Lang Seafood Noodle decided to set up a branch in PJ. The fish aquariums are not as extensive its original branch in Cheras KL, but the offerings are no less attractive on this 2-floor seafood resto. A Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, it was most impressive to see how the service and orders went through so efficiently like a well-oiled machine and customers are never left waiting for long.

I ordered their all-in-one mixed seafood bowl as I won’t be able to make up my mind what to order otherwise. Too many choices – there’s fish, clams, octopus, even lobster and oysters, and lots more. My other half ordered porridge with grouper.

Some friends say they found the soup not very flavourful in the KL branch, especially since its pork-free, but I found the seafood soup quite nicely subtle with the nuances of the sea, and without the enhancement of MSG. The huge bowl with everything was RM28.90 while the porridge was RM18.90. The noodles were tastier than the porridge, which was a huge bowl BTW. We also had a small plate of baby octopus for RM14.90 for fun. This was value for money we thought.

You can also order just seafood or choice of fish only minus the noodles. Which is great as I don’t really want to fill myself with carbs when I can savour just the seafood. Besides the clear soup, there’s a choice of tom yum and laksa soups to choose from.

Pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices. There’s a long queue in the mornings right until lunch time which is the office crowd. But it moves really fast. There were 12 numbers in front of me but the wait was just 15mins. And food came real soon – within 10 minutes. Like I said – they’ve got a fantastic system in place – and replicating this across the branches.

Marking this as my regular haunt. Simple, super fresh seafood and reasonable prices. Hard to coem by these days.

Brewing prosperity with Carlsberg

Brewing prosperity with Carlsberg

Carlsberg’s CNY campaign ‘Brewing Prosperity Together’ is back with another exciting array of artist-edition festive packaging, captivating events, and exclusive promotions. The essence of ‘Brewing Prosperity Together’ is aimed at elevating much-anticipated reunions with loved and dear ones whilst ushering in prosperity and smoothness for the year ahead.

The brewer’s annual artist-edition packaging, designed by award-winning artist Ofen Hu, reflects the vibrant energy of the Year of the Dragon. There is also an added surprise to Hu’s contemporary twist on traditional art, where a special ink transforms the dragon pearl on chilled cans from yellow to auspicious orange at the perfect drinking temperature of 6°C. The number 6, considered lucky in Feng Shui, also adds cultural significance, symbolising happiness and blessings.

The design adorning the bottles and cans of Carlsberg Danish Pilsner signifying prosperity and Carlsberg Smooth Draught representing greetings of smoothness, depicts a captivating narrative of the Wood Dragon, rousing from its slumber in the tender embrace of Spring. The dragon is portrayed moving with grace and fluidity through the serene clouds, swaying its tail playfully as it chases its dragon pearl, a mystical symbol of cosmic harmony while its scales transform into beautiful flowers bringing everyone an abundance of luck. The dynamic colours in the artwork also exude the limitless vitality of the season, encapsulating the essence of revitalisation, wealth, and happiness.
