RM102,000 raised by Four Seasons’ Terry Fox Run

Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur and FourSeasons Resort Langkawi have collectively donated RM102,000 raised through their 2026 Terry Fox Fu n Runs, marking the highest amount ever contributed by the two properties in support of cancer research and the global fight against cancer. Held in May 2026, the Terry Fox Fun Run organised by Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur welcomed more than 2,000 participants, making it the largest edition since the hotel first hosted the event four years ago. One month later, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi hosted its third Terry Fox Fun Run, attracting a record turnout of more than 350 participants from across the island community and beyond.

Together, the events brought hundreds of colleagues, guests, families, community members and corporate supporters together under a common purpose: advancing Terry Fox’s vision of a world free from cancer. Representatives from Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Four Seasons Resort Langkawi gathered at Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur for a cheque presentation ceremony, where a symbolic cheque for RM102,000 was presented to Andy Khoo, Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Research Malaysia.

Received on behalf of the organisation, the contribution will support vital work in cancer research, prevention and treatment, helping to advance efforts toward better outcomes for cancer patients and communities across Malaysia. The Kuala Lumpur run garnered strong support not only from Four Seasons colleagues and members of the local community, but also from a range of sponsors and organisations that joined the effort to make a meaningful contribution towards cancer research. The overwhelming response across both destinations resulted in the highest collective fundraising total ever achieved by the two properties.

The Terry Fox Run is inspired by the remarkable legacy of Terry Fox, a 22-year-old Canadian who lost his right leg to bone cancer. Determined to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, Terry embarked on his historic of Hope in 1980, running the equivalent of a marathon every day across Canada. He covered 5,374 kilometres and raised CAD24 million before being forced to stop when his cancer returned.

Moved by Terry’s extraordinary courage and determination, Four Seasons Founder Isadore Sharp helped organise the first Terry Fox Run in 1981. More than four decades later, Terry’s vision continues to inspire communities around the world. Today, approximately 12,000 Terry Fox Runs are held annually across numerous countries, including several proudly organised by Four Seasons properties, raising hundreds of millions of dollars globally for cancer research.

The record participation and fundraising achieved in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi underscore Four Seasons’ ongoing commitment to fostering meaningful community impact while championing causes that bring people together for the greater good.
