Silver Hill Duck makes a splash in Malaysian market

Silver Hill Duck has officially launched in Malaysia, marking the start of a new chapter for one of the world’s most acclaimed duck brands. Central to its entry in Malaysia is Silver Hill Duck’s halal certification by the Islamic Foundation of Ireland, recognised by Malaysia’s Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM). This transforms Silver Hill from a niche premium import into a scalable commercial opportunity for Malaysian businesses and consumers.

Founded in 1962 in Emyvale, County Monaghan, Ireland, Silver Hill Duck has spent more than 60 years perfecting a unique crossbreed of Aylesbury and Peking ducks through dedicated research, husbandry and craftsmanship. The Farm breeds, hatches, farms, processes, and cooks only Silver Hill ducks, supplying over 4 million birds a year to more than 30 countries. 

Silver Hill Duck’s distinctive fat-to-meat ratio, prized by chefs for its succulent flavour, tender meat, and crispy skin, has made the Farm the supplier behind London’s Chinatown roast duck scene, where Silver Hill supplies up to 98% of restaurants.

To commemorate its official arrival, Orla Tunney, Ambassador of Ireland to Malaysia, alongside representatives from Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, industry partners, chefs, and hospitality professionals attended an exclusive luncheon at Qing Banquet, Bamboo Hills. The media were treated to a grand spread of 9 duck courses in different dishes.

The Malaysian launch marks the first time Silver Hill brings this heritage of Irish farming expertise and craftsmanship to market under its own name.

Premium Chinese restaurant groups that will offer Silver Hill duck include The Grand Imperial Group, Upper Palace Dining Group, The Qing Cuisine Group, Genting Group, BAP Ventures, and the Fui Chuai Group, luxury hotels like Hilton Hotels Malaysia and Intercontinental Hotels Malaysia.
