Tex Mex at Fatfire
Fatfire in Lalaport KL razes in with its own take on Tex Mex offering tacos, fajitas, fish and fries, burgers and such. It’s also probably one of the cheapest cocktails in town, offering 3 drinks for RM70.
Mains like Moo-tiful Beef Burger was pretty good, generous patty done just right, still moist, offering a balanced bite of meat with grilled pineapple, lettuce, tomato, beef bacon, cheese and caramelised onion. There are other burger variations such as Mary’s Not So Little Lamb and Cluckin’ Hot Nashville, with even an option for vegetarian if so desired. We also had Jambalicious pasta, tomato based with grilled chicken pieces.
Prawn-tastic tacos that came with tiger prawns sharing space with mango salsa, diced avo, red cabbage with spicy Fatfire slaw and guacamole were a good bet. So was the unusual tilapia popcorn and deep fried calamari and you can’t go wrong with chicken wings made with a house made marinade that’s quite delicious.
Dessert was Key lime pie and beignet dipped in chocolate. These were alright but paled in comparison to the savoury dishes which had better execution.
One of the more affordable places for a meal at Lalaport, Fatfire’s great for lunch or just to drop by to chill with drinks.
