Oversea Restaurants dazzle with CNY offerings for Year of the Golden Horse

Oversea Restaurant is set to dazzle with its Chinese New Year offerings, available from Jan 5 till March 3.

This year’s festive concept is “Golden Horse Embraces a Golden Start”, and Oversea Restaurant’s season offerings reflect a heartfelt wish for a year filled with promise, good fortune and prosperity.

Beyond the classic Yee Sang with Smoked Salmon and Korean Snow Pear,  variations include the Oversea Fabulous Fruity Yee Sang that was bursting with refreshing flavours. There’s also an option Yee Sang with Abalone and Black Truffle.

At the heart of every Oversea celebration is the Prosperity Treasure Pot, the iconic reunion centrepiece. It comes brimming with 16 premium, auspicious ingredients, each chosen for its quality and meaning, slowly simmered for hours in a rich, robust broth. Available for dining and takeaway at RM738++.

The one dish I look forward to every year, the Hong Kong–Style Waxed Meat Claypot Rice, a timeless classic, features fragrant jasmine rice cooked in a claypot for a slight crisp, golden crust. The top is layered with a generous medley of premium waxed meats such as meat and sweet liver sausages, and waxed duck, given a drizzle of savoury soy sauce that’s mixed in for that perfect spoonful. The rice comes in two sizes – RM138++/6 and RM168++/10 with an option to add on foie gras (RM68/piece). 

This festive season, Oversea Restaurant also has a couple of new dishes added to the menu – Braised Pork Trotters (RM138++) and Stir-fried Crystal Prawn with Water Chestnut (RM90++). The lubricious melt-in-the-mouth tender meat in a rich, savoury sauce is to.die.for. while the slightly crisp, firm texture of the prawns offers a well-balanced dish of natural sweetness and crunch.  

In addition season delights, Oversea Restaurant also has a selection of delectable cookies for gifting: Oriental Muffin (RM39.80/box), Hong Kong Style Egg Rolls (RM29.80/box), Sea Salt Peanut Cookies and Pineapple Ball (RM48.80/per set). 

The media had a sneak preview of the new CNY menu at the newly upgraded Sri Petaling outlet, a stunning space with premium flooring, ambient lighting and refined décor. Spacious enough for up to 200 guests, it is perfect for weddings, banquets, annual dinners, and corporate events. The flexible layout is paired with state-of-the-art audiovisual facilities and full event support.
